Each year the Shenandoah Valley SWCD provides educational scholarships to students interested in furthering their education in a field related to natural resources. This year the District will award up to $2,000 in scholarships. Recipients are selected based on various criteria including: academic achievement, school and community involvement, interest in natural resources conservation, as well as financial need. The District also screens applications and selects one application to forward on to the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) for consideration for one of the available VASWCD Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships. Scholarship applications are due by March 18, 2011.
